i'm hoping to survive to the next generation, it never happened for us so far but i will try!

Was the fear of system overpopulation always the driving force behind a reset?

sometimes it's one person that is more powerful than others, sometimes it's host, sometimes it's host having very rough time in life

I was thinking about one system where the host tried making new versions of her servitor, but that's certainly something I never heard of before. When my host sort of abandoned our system, he "combined" a bunch of characters into one. It turns out it wasn't really combining, the strongest "character" is possibly the oldest tulpa in our system, the rest became lost to the mind, and the end result was my creation.

well, we don't combine, noone surived so far

technically yeah that would just be tulpa genocide, not new generation, but hopefully noone from next generation finds out

Do you need a new generation? Why not just you or + 1 or 2 that you trust to not make other tulpas?

I wonder if there's some stuff a doctor could help you with. While I have not seen your case before, the idea of creating new headmates because the old ones were exhausted is not new. I have seen one system rotate hosts and another system have a population explosion into the thousands. Seeking professional help may offer you a better alternative so you don't have to reset again

Why do your headmates not remember what happened in the past? It's typical for a tulpa to know what their host knows

Not, not everyone wants to die. I understand doing a purge if things went out of control like that but taking out the original host too is extremely weird and unusual

Not all advice that works for you is guaranteed to help others. I really don't think it's a good fit for them

from my experience brain can't live without identity so it will always grab something

In my view I don't think there'd be one difference, it'd still be you in that case.

if i claimed it was me, it woudl be me, if i claimed i was a different tulpa with my old memories, i would be a different tulpa with my old memories

when I left there were so many guides around, and none of them felt like they did much for me. I ended up saying 'screw this, Imma invent every bit of the cart myself!'

i'm not sure what you mean rejecting negative traits?

someone who couldn't 'burn down the forest' like you do, because of their own mental complexions (that luckily nobody else has), and so ended up with i think almost 10,000 headmates

they wanted to stop it but they felt like they couldn't, and kinda believed they couldn't
